The Fawley Story

In 1981, a few local contractors and homeowners took a chance on a new business started by Tom Fawley. He worked six days a week to serve them, many times coming home in the evening only to turn around again to help get someone in, or out of, their garage. Through hard work and honest dealings, Tom’s business continued to grow. To meet all his customer’s needs, he added installers, service technicians and office staff, even bringing his own son on board to help grow the business.

As a family owned and operated Portage MI based company, we continue Tom's dedication to personal service and quality work. Our friendly and skilled technicians continue to work according to our core values of honesty, integrity, and commitment to our #1 goal of customer satisfaction - if you’re not happy, we’re not happy.

Company History Highlights

1981 - Tom Fawley started Fawley Overhead Door.
1988 - Hired first employee and bought second truck.
1991 - Moved out of a CJ’s Store & Park 700 sq. ft. mini storage and into a 1250 sq. ft. commercial warehouse space.
1999 - New logo and branding.
2001 - Moved into 6500 sq. ft. current location with 2500 sq. ft. showroom.
2007 - Bought Professional Garage Door Service from Dick Eiman.
